Warning: Extreme images are very graphic.
It’s the latest outrageous viral craze, and it’s part of a crush fetish. Yep, exactly what it sounds like. Women are paid to crush small animals on film for entertainment… (a film I’ve not embedded for graphical obscenity reasons, but is accessible at the bottom of this article via a link.) The images in this article are extremely graphic and may offend.
Please be aware the aim of this story is to raise awareness that this is a cruel sport, largely stemming from China, and all kinds of animals are used. Surely there is some international law we can impose to make this practice – and spread of the films – illegal on a world stage!?
Sadly, when I heard about this and researched it further, I came across 2 different instances of “baby rabbit crushing”: one involving foot stomping, one involving a glass plate.
Have mercy people, eating meat is one thing, torturing it for no reason (I include for pleasure in there) is quite another. Take responsibility for your actions people, and China, at least act like you care!
“Recently, the video of a girl senselessly killing a baby rabbit appeared on the Internet. The cruelty provoked Netizens’ great anger towards the rabbit-killer girl. Many of you thought this was just an isolated incident, the girl was probably mentally ill. However no, the truth is behind her cruel acts there is an interest group by the name of “Crush Fetish”. Including those other girls appeared in the video are all members of this group of abusing and killing various small animals. The goal of making these sick videos is to make profit; they make the videos into DVD discs and sell them to foreign countries. Prior to this, there were already videos of a mid-aged women abusing and killing cats, rabbits and dogs on the Internet, she was just one of them.”
As a rabbit owner, I’m personally very sickened, but also as a human being, which I would have thought stood for something these days.
“In the video, a young girl with long hair dressed in white abused and killed the little rabbit. She put a piece of thick glass plate on top of the the little rabbit and then sat on top of the glass plate. Using her body weight she crashed the little rabbit to death. Her two female friends watched and laughed when she committed the crime.
The entire video showed one pretty sick woman brutally killing a little rabbit, and two other girls sitting there, watching and laughing. They all spoke Sichuan dialect, sounded like Chengdu locals,” said the website.
At 1’36” of the video, the girl said “softly sit on it”, then she put the rabbit on the table and sat on it. “So soft!” she said. The rabbit jumped and fell on the floor.
The girl put the rabbit back onto the table and placed a glass plate on top of it. At 2’16” of the video, she sat on top of the glass plate and said, “Sit on the skull… does it know I am sitting on it?” The sound of things being crushed…
The rabbit killer moved around her body sitting on the glass plate while humming a tune. At 3’03” of the video, she stood up and lifted up the glass plate, and the poor rabbit was dead.
At 3’35” of the video, she sat on the glass plate again, still humming, and the others just laughed. The girl lifted both of her legs off the floor and said, “ha I am using my entire body weight!”
Commenters on the Internet are outraged about the video and authorities are asking for help in locating the three women.
What is most odd, the woman in the video then apologises, also shown in the Digital Journal:
“An Asian woman filmed killing a rabbit by sitting on it has issued an apology online. The woman’s apology has been met with criticism from individuals, animal activist groups and online communities, who are not convinced, and believe it to be a lie.
According to online reports, an insider from “crush-fetish” – the organisation the woman allegedly belongs to – said this is often a tactic employed by such fetish groups to deflect the anger from outraged viewers who see the video and demand action and prosecution.
Women who have appeared in previous animal abuse videos, which garnered an equal amount of Internet coverage, also apologized in an attempt to shift public opinion, but they were not being honest and in-fact continued the practice – out of the view of the camera’s lens.
Chinese netizens, who have posted on the AsiaOne Forum, are calling for legal action to be taken against individuals and groups who are profiting from these animal torture scenes in the ‘crush’ video that has horrified millions of people around the world.
Outraged bloggers who have commented on that forum and others say that despite such apologies, whether sincere or not, presently China does not have any relevant laws to punish those who abuse, torture and kill animals.
One commenter who posted under the alias “advocateforsavingdogs” on friendburst.com said this:
“Crush videos are ongoing worldwide, an ongoing “Sexual foot” fetish where girls crush the animals with their feet, sometimes their butt. These animals range from mice to goats, pigs and donkeys, no animal is safe! This is a nicer video. I myself, even though see alot of abuse cases still traumatizes me to this day, it’s a horrid site to see them doing this to any animal, and with most videos, the brains ultimately are pushed, ok, crushed/squeezed out of their nose! I remember posting anti crush petitions 3 years ago, and an “animal activist” wrote me and told me not to even bother…???…Thankfully, some great animal activists worked incredibly hard to make crush videos in the US ILLEGAL, and it passed!
You see, the videos were protected under the “freedom of speech” act.
What was the message?”
